Police Identify Southeast D.C. Man Killed In Local Double Shooting

Police have identified a man who was killed in a shooting that also wounded a female on Saturday, July 9 in Southeast D.C.

Officers responded to reports of gunshots at the 100 block of Atlantic Street at around 12 p.m. to find  33-year-old Amos Jones and one female victim, the Metropolitan Police Department reported.

The female victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries, and Jones was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The Metropolitan Police Department is offering a $25,000 reward for anyone with information that would lead to an arrest. Anyone with information is asked to call the police at 202-727-9099.
